Dr. Jiasen Wang is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon.
A native of Houston, Texas, Dr. Wang completed his undergraduate studies at Rice University, earning degrees in economics and cognitive science. He went on to attend the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, where he also completed an internship in internal medicine. During medical school, he was honored with the Holman Taylor Scholarship in Dermatology in recognition of his academic excellence and commitment to the field.
Dr. Wang completed his dermatology training at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where he served as chief resident. He then pursued advanced training in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology in Santa Monica, California, under the mentorship of renowned Mohs surgeon Dr. Richard Bennett. His first year focused on clinical research, followed by an intensive, ACGME-accredited fellowship in Mohs surgery his second year. During this time, he gained extensive experience performing complex surgical procedures and reconstructions, while also learning from leading experts in cutaneous oncology and plastic surgery.
Additionally, Dr. Wang also served as volunteer faculty at the University of Southern California/Los Angeles General Medical Center, where he taught residents and cared for underserved patients. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and remains active in dermatologic surgery research.
Dr. Wang is thrilled to join Metro East Dermatology, where he is committed to delivering empathetic, patient-centered care rooted in the latest medical evidence. Outside of work, he enjoys bouldering, hiking, skiing, and traveling with his wife, a physician currently completing her gynecologic oncology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.
